Stacey Clare - A Healthy Mum

Stacey is a mum of two and an accredited health and wellness coach. She loves sharing real food recipes and nutrition tips that benefit the entire family.

Stacey works with most of her clients via Skype or phone once her munchkins are in bed (or in person if you are in the Sydney metro area), so you can have her support no matter were you are.

She also has amazing lunchbox and breakfast e-books available.

As a mother, what's an activity you choose for your kids to keep fit?

My kids ride their bikes around the house 24/7. And by around the house I really mean inside the house and more around the furniture, washing and toys that are all over the floor. I adore exercising too and most mornings I take whichever one wakes first in my running pram and have a 5km run. Both my boys (one is 1.5 and the other 3.5) ADORE it and ask each day to go with me. It’s a brilliant motivator and I adore the time one-on-one with them doing what I love.

If your children could choose dinner, what would it be? What would your healthy choice for dinner be?

A stew or spaghetti bolognese with zucchini noodles. They LOVE making them in the spiralizer so that’s why they get eaten. My choice would be grilled fish, quinoa and lots of veg. I LOVE fish.

What's something you think is important towards supporting a child's emotional development?

I have two very loving little boys. They both adore cuddles and I ask them 10 times a day to say to each other they love one another. The easiest way I find to get them to do that and start showing that side is to make a big deal out of it when they do. If I get a kiss from one of them I do a dance and say how much I loved it. That makes them feel special and want to repeat the process. I do have two boys don’t forget, mumma has to make a big deal out of them showing affection!

If other parents haven't started their healthy food journey yet but really want to, what is the first small step you would recommend they start with?

Breakfast. If you start eating a healthy breakfast your whole day will be better. You’ll have energy. I’ve just launched a ‘Quick & Healthy Breakfasts’ eBook just for this reason.

Best parenting tip for Healthy Fit Kids you can pass on?

Show your kids you enjoy exercise and you love how it makes you feel. They’ll want that too.

Thank you so much Stacey for your time :-)
