The more fun the exercise, the more likely your kids will want to participate and join in and the more likely they will want to continue.
Have a chat with them about what they are interested in trying out- maybe a team sport or an individual sport. Maybe they don't want to be booked into anything at all and are happy to just run around at the park, beach, their backyard or at the local oval. That is fine, it's about being active, keeping their bodies moving and enjoying themselves.
Stress doesn't help a child stay fit and healthy, so if the child is really disliking what they are doing and becoming stressed about it, any benefit will be out weighed mentally by the anxiety they are experiencing. We want our children to grow up with a positive experience and association to keeping active so as they grow older this just becomes a natural part of their every day life.
